Lady Gaga is unknown for her unusual and stricking outfits. Her edgey sometimes contraversal style is what Lady Gaga is known for. However, on the magazine cover below Lady Gaga says ' Fashion saved my life' therefore the reader knows that Lady Gagas unqiue taste in fashion play a big part in her success in music.
The cover seems to be being represented as a more girly, innocent flirty woman. Rather than her suprising bold, querky look. The use of the pale colours such as her pink hair and her white dress give a very feminine look. Also, the gently positioned hands and the big fluttering eye lashes make a flirtatious representation of Lady Gaga. Although this is a different look for Lady Gaga we still see her unsual taste and personality, as it is not a photo that would be considered 'normal'. Even though she is wearing pale feminime colours she has decided to have an unusual pink hair colour which is styled quite whacky. Furthermore, she is wearing an unquie head piece and dress and we can also see a glimpst of a tattoo on her arm, which contrats the innocnet look.
In this picture from the cover of Q magazine Lady Gaga has a completely different representation. This more controversial cover shot shows Lady Gaga as more sexy, dominate and powerful. The outfit choice appears to be representative of her character and persona 'Lady Gaga'.
Lady Gaga prides herself being edgy, controversial and different to other artists. Both her look and music is different and nothing like any other artist before.
Moreover, when this cover shoot for Q began there was huge media attention around Lady Gaga as she was causing trouble on the shoot. I research into this particular cover shoot and found that
"Nearly naked and swathed in chainmail as she grabs lewdly at her crotch, Lady GaGa strikes a predictably demure pose. But behind the scenes of this Q Magazine photo shoot, the singer’s behaviour was equally bizarre. She left onlookers bemused by bursting into tears halfway through and saying: “I’m just not in a good place right now.”GaGa had earlier infuriated the Q’s photographers with her exacting demands for the shoot which took place at London’s Mayfair Hotel. After saying she hated the photos, she started crying and promptly walked out. She then insisted she would only continue if her boyfriend took the pictures instead.
A source said: “The magazine wasn’t going to stand for that so they told her people where to go. Her behaviour was weird.” - The Mirror By Tom Bryant, Showbiz Reporter - exclusive 20/02/2010
Finally, in this last cover shoot for ELLE Lady Gaga appears to be looking very natural and 'normal'
Her blonde hair and pale skin makes Gaga look very innocent and feminine, however we do see flashes of Lady Gaga's more powerful, unusual side.
We can see the quite large script tattoo on her inner arm. Also, her black lace outfit gives off a more sexy and dominating attitude.
I think that the magazine company (ELLE) decided to go with this look as it links into the interview caption on the cover. The cover says "Lady Gaga Behind The Fashion Behind The Scenes Behind The Music THE GIRL INSIDE THE GLAM" therefore, the having given her a both glamorous look through the clothes and natural look through the make-up.
